Read 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, 2 Peter 1:3&4
Troubles come to everyone. We can let them crush us. We can be negative and morose. We can say ‘why me, what have I done to deserve this?’ There are only two types of people, those who react Biblically to troubles and those who react un-Biblically.
Some examples of Biblical Reactions.
– Don’t lose heart.
– Be renewed inwardly each day. Feed your soul.
– Rate your problem as light.
– Remember your problems will only last a little while.
– Anticipate the Eternal Glory you will eventually receive.
– Fix your eyes on what is not seen because it will always be.
Take hold of the promises God has given in His Word. As you apply these to your life situations you will have victory over the evil world and the trouble it brings. Through the great and precious promises, you will become mature and Christ-like.
We need God’s Word most when troubles come to us. God’s Word is not just to read and know: take hold of it and allow it to control your reactions to the everyday situations of life. Be an example to people in the world and to other Christians in the way you react to problems and setbacks. If we allow ourselves to react in unbiblical ways our lives will not be fruit-bearing branches that Christ desires.
Make a deliberate choice to React Biblically.
